Project Title: Clearfield winter wheat study - 2018
Objective: To examine the effect of phytotoxity on two chemical treatments in
winter wheat
Methods:
This experiment utilized a randomized complete block design, with the combination of variety
and chemical as a treatment. In total, there were 12 unique treatments (i.e., 6 winter wheat
varieties and 2 herbicides of [1] 2x rate of Beyond herbicide with MSO and [2] husky complete
herbicide) in three replications. The herbicides were applied on May 4
th
, 2018. The first
phytotoxity rating was done on May 18
th
and the second rating was done on the first of June.
Summary:
Unevenness was observed as a result of winter damage. Phytotoxity rating was done to
document loss of green pigmentation. During the first and second rating, no observable tissue
discoloration was observed. The 2x rate of beyond herbicide caused no observable plant death
on this site in this year among the varieties tested.
